Mango Materials selected as promising space technology for commerical flight tests

Mango Materials entered the next phase of research with NASA by being selected to test the technology on a commerical flight test. As part of the Flight Opportunities program, 31 technologies were chosen for testing aboard parabolic aircraft, high-altitude balloons, and suborbital rocket-powered systems. “By exposing the innovations to many of the rigors and characteristics of spaceflight – without the expense of an orbital flight – NASA can help ensure these technologies work correctly when they are deployed on future missions.”

The Mango Materials team and partners will test their membrane-based bioreactor system on ZERO-G’s G-Force One. This aircraft allows the opportunity to explore the effects of a weightless environment on the technology and gather data to understand how to deploy this on future space missions.
